Queen RaniaCenter for Entrepreneurship invites you to join the Synergos Social Innovators Program this year. The Synergos Social Innovators Program will identify and support twenty creative individuals who are implementing successful social projects in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco or Palestine. Social Innovations should be focused on one or more of the following fields: economic, social or sustainable development; health; education; and culture.
Why? If you are selected as a Social Innovator, you will have access to:
# Training, mentoring and peer learning through our network of professionals and social entrepreneurs to help build financial and organizational sustainability for your innovation.
# Facilitating connections to business, government, philanthropic and other civil society leaders in your area and across the world to leverage your innovation and make a greater impact. Financial awards of up to $17,000 per year, for two years, to help you develop your social venture.
When? The application period for the Social Innovators program begins in early May 2008; we will accept applications through the middle of September.
3. Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship (QRCE) Announce The Made in Jordan Competition (MIJC)
The Made in Jordan Competition (MIJC) is a national competition aimed at extracting innovations in Jordan via channeling research in Jordanian universities, exemplified in graduate thesis studies, towards developing industrial or software prototypes that solve real technological, engineering, or scientific problems in the region. This will foster business-oriented results and new product developments with significant market value. The MIJC is a pilot program for Industry-University Linkage (IUL) in Jordan through requiring a sponsor from the industry for each graduation project. The project will provide financial, technical, and consultative support for students. The MIJC shall be assisting in developing the entrepreneurial and technical skills of program participants through specialized training offered, in addition to recognizing innovative and outstanding technology business ideas.
